Utsav Day 3


Utsav provided a stage for all the amateur mimics to showcase their talents. Mimicry took place in the counselling hall. Only one entry was allowed per college. The performance had to take place within 3 minutes. The theme, which was given 24 hours prior to the competition was ‘Election Rally’. The languages permitted were Hindi and English. The event was presided over by the judges – Mr. Premchandra Pai, Mr. Vivekananda and Mr. Narayana Nayak.

The competition was tough with participants flawlessly mimicking the likes of Nana Patekar, Amitabh Bachchan and more. The participants were judged on the basis of presentation and voice modulation. KMC, Manipal was represented by Ahmad Husaini, who presented spot on impressions of accents – everything ranging from Irish to Mallu, from Nigerian to Nepali. His performance showed how people of various ethnicities would campaign. He managed to tickle everybody’s funny bone which landed KMC the third spot in mimicry.
